How to make money with your Paso Fino horse
PFHA sponsors the following two programs where members compete to win prize money at the PFHA Grand National Show. The average annual payout for both programs currently exceeds $50,000.
The Fabulous Futurity program was established by the PFHA in January 2007. The goal of this program is to provide breeders and owners of Paso Fino horses an opportunity to enhance the value of their stock. Breeders and owners nominate their weanlings into this program. Annually they pay a nominal fee to maintain eligibility towards a goal of participating in the Three-Year-Old Fabulous Futurity show classes. Winners of the classes receive the purse money that was derived from the proceeds of the entries plus any sponsorship funds that may have been obtained for the program.
The Stallion Service Auction (SSA) program runs in conjunction with the Breeder’s Sweepstakes program. These programs are driven by the generous donation by PFHA members of breeding services to their stallions. The PFHA then manages the auction of these services to members that are interested in breeding their mares to these stallions. The resulting fees paid by the buyers of the breeding becomes the purse to be paid at the Breeder’s Sweepstakes classes that take place yearly during the Grand National Show. The Breeder’s Sweepstakes classes are only opened to the yearlings that resulted from the breedings from the Stallion Service Auction program. Two Breeder’s Sweepstakes classes are offered each year, one for yearling fillies, and the second one for yearling colts and geldings.
