Project Description

Katreena Haley – 3 Year Director

Horses came into my life when I took an early retirement from a hectic career that had me traveling across America. Don’t get me wrong I loved my job, but I wanted the freedom to pursue a few personal goals.  I first heard about the Paso Fino breed while sailing around the Caribbean islands.  When 911 occurred, I was living in St. John, USVI and that event prompted the move back stateside to my roots in Georgia.  It wasn’t long before one Paso Fino became three and it became obvious that I needed a farm – preferably located in a warmer climate than north Georgia.

Fast forwarding to today, Rancho PasoLuna in Dunnellon, Florida is home to about 18 equines mostly Paso Finos, several diagonal horses, an Irish warmblood jumper, a donkey and a Zebu calf. Our main attraction is a four-acre all-natural obstacle playground.  There are water obstacles with a swinging bridge, high and low bridges, balance beams, hills and ditches and more!

The close community of Paso friends that I made in Georgia and Ocala has inspired me into giving back to our breed by serving on the Southern Regional PFHA board as a director, their PFHA delegate and on numerous committees at both the local and national level.  It is an honor to serve with the 2019 Executive Committee!
